National Museum of Lithuania

    The oldest museum of the country founded in 1855. The museum includes some 700,000 exhibits on archaeology, history and ethnography. Exhibits illustrate the history and culture of the people of Lithuania with recreated dwelling interior: history from the 10th millennium B.C. to the formation of the Lithuanian state, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania of the 13th–18th centuries, Lithuania as part of craziest Russia from 1795 to World War I, Lithuania in the period of 1918-1940. This museum in Vilnius also arranges thematic exhibitions.
